Circle Facilitator Training 2 Days

The Circle Process is an ancient method that brings people together based on shared values of respect, honesty and empathy. It enables a group to struggle through their conflict and create their own solutions through consensus. The trained Circle Facilitator upholds the principle that every person in the Circle is valued, supported and safe.

Objectives

Participants will learn how to:

  • Set up and facilitate a conflict resolution Circle
  • Determine which participants and issues are appropriate for the Circle process
  • Enable people in conflict to come together in a positive way
  • Work with the talking piece, Circle values, guidelines and ceremonies
  • Facilitate a conversation which goes to the depth of the conflict

Methodology

The course material is taught through lecture, experience of the Circle process, group exercises and conflict role-plays in the Circle. Each participant will have the opportunity to co-facilitate a conflict resolution Circle.

Who Should Attend

Lawyers, mental health professionals, social services professionals, clerics, educators and others who work with groups to transform conflict and restore relationships. Professionals who deal with conflict in a workplace, family, school or community.
